Most visitors only see the entrance to Denali National Park from the windows of a crowded bus. Our GPS-led audio tours give you the freedom to explore the famous Park Road at your own pace. Whether you are driving the public section to Savage River or have a special permit to head deeper to Teklanika, we provide the stories, wildlife tips, and history that bring this subarctic wilderness to life.

We’ve broken the Park Road into two specific segments to match park regulations. The first 15 miles from the Entrance to Savage River is open to the general public. For those with a SPECIAL PERMIT (such as a Teklanika camping pass), our second tour covers the additional 17 miles to the Teklanika Campground. Across both sections, you’ll find 40 GPS-triggered chapters detailing the park's creation, its legendary rangers, and the "Big Five" wildlife that call this landscape home.
The drive to Savage River (Mile 15) is the furthest the general public can go in a private vehicle, offering incredible views of the Savage River Canyon and prime habitat for moose and grizzlies. If you have the SPECIAL PERMIT to continue to Teklanika (Mile 32), our restricted-access tour picks up right where the public road ends. We’ll guide you through the transition into the park's interior, pointing out the best ridges to scan for Dall sheep and caribou.

Once you pass the Denali Park Depot, cell service vanishes. That’s why our audio works completely offline. It is vital that you download these tours over Wi-Fi at your hotel or the Visitor Center before you start your drive. Once downloaded, your phone’s GPS will trigger every story automatically—even in the most remote corners of the Park Road where no signal exists.

We separated these tours to ensure you only buy what you can actually drive. The Entrance to Savage River tour is for everyone. However, the Savage River to Teklanika tour is reserved specifically for travelers who have secured a SPECIAL PERMIT from the National Park Service. This ensures you have the right stories for the specific miles you are authorized to explore, keeping your Denali experience seamless and stress-free.

Check Your Permit: You can only drive past Mile 15 (Savage River) if you have a Special Permit or a Teklanika Campground reservation. Ensure you have the correct tour for your access level.
Download Before the Gate: There is no reliable Wi-Fi inside the park. Grab your tours at the hotel so they are ready to play the moment you pass the entrance sign.
The "Mile 15" Turnaround: For the general public, Savage River is the end of the road. Use our tour to find the best parking and hiking loops before you head back.
Scan the Ridges: We’ll tell you exactly which mountainsides the Dall sheep prefer—keep your binoculars ready!
Round-Trip Stories: Both tours feature entirely different audio for the return trip, giving you new insights into the park's wilderness on your way back to the entrance.
